...A collage exhibition? Maybe. A parody of something? Seems likely. An extreme over reliance on appropriation!..perhaps, all I know for sure is that it started like this...

There was a story going around last year, you may remember it...it was in all the papers. The strange case of the “Shipping Container” or something like that. There was this obscure little painter and this really really really world famous photographer... Anyway this painter painted a painted of a shipping container and then sold to the local newspaper for the standard purchasing fee of 7,19€ and everyone was happy, end of story, right? No! Without asking his permission or anything, this photographer came along and took a photo of this guys painting and sold it to a big fat rich american business man for a “One Million Dollars”!

Well, later that day when the painter heard the news he went told the Burgermeister all about it! Can you believe that? Really, what a puss! Anyway, he said as he was crying and waving his hands all around “This is my work! I painted that painting! She can't take a photo of it just like that, you have to stop her!! This is Outrageous!!! and so on...

The Burgermeister sat back in his chair and began to think things over. But then all of a sudden, everyone became extremely bored with the whole situation and just decided to take matters into their own hands. A bunch of 'em rushed out and found the photographer! They tied her up and cut her hands off! And after that they gave 'em to a giant who threw them in the fuckin' river...end of story! Ha! Can you believe that? You just cant' make this shit up...

In Celebration of the 450th Anniversary of the Stadhuis... with this exhibition we present a recreation of one of the many art galleries in the Stadhuis van Antwerpen, (normally off limits to the general public) that the painter had passed through while he was lost and searching for the toilet...
